Although naturally gifted in drawing and painting, Michael’s drive for excellence led him to seek extensive professional training in graphic design as well as realistic and oil painting. Michael was born August 20, 1980 in a subsection of Los Angeles called Watts. While growing up in Watts during the early to late 80s, Michael and his family endured poverty and homelessness all while being surrounded by drugs and gang violence. Although difficult, Michael used those troubling times as a springboard for what he would accomplish and who he would become. In the year 2000, Michael graduated top of his class with an AA degree in Art from Southwest Collage. He continued his education at the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) where he graduated with a degree in Apparel Merchandizing in 2002.
